Turkmenistan is one of the world’s least accessible countries, and also the ancestral home of the Akhal-Teke, one of the oldest and rarest horse breeds in the world. Bred for over 3,000 years by the Tekke people, these horses are renowned for their endurance, intelligence, and distinctive metallic sheen. 

The country also once stood at the crossroads of the Silk Road, linking East and West through a network of caravan routes that carried goods, ideas, and horses. The journey passes near ancient sites and landscapes connected to this history, from desert fortresses to ruined cities that hosted traders, scholars, and nomads in the past.
 Here, travel is deliberate, controlled, and largely untouched by mass tourism.

The Gates of Hell:
Ride across the Karakum Desert toward the glowing Darvaza crater, a 70m diameter fire made by the Soviets, that has been burning for more than 50 years. Seeing sun set and spending the night around the Gates of Hell with the smell of methane in the air will be surreal experiences.

Dinosaur Plateau:
In the remote foothills of eastern Turkmenistan lies one of the world’s most remarkable paleontological sites: a vast limestone slab marked by thousands of dinosaur footprints, preserved exactly where they were made over 150 million years ago.
